1 | 1 | pilot | Pilot / Chuck Versus the Intersect | Sep 24 2007 | June 23, 2009 | McG | Josh Schwartz & Chris Fedak |
Chuck Bartowski studied engineering at Stanford but was kicked out of college before he graduated because of his former best friend, Bryce Larkin. That's why he's now, five years later, working in the nerd-stove department of the electronics store 'Buy More'. On his birthday, he received an email from Bryce, who is now a renegade CIA spy, in which all government secrets are stored encrypted in images in a program - the Intersect. As soon as the email is sent, Bryce is apparently killed by NSA agent John Casey. Since the attempt by the CIA to retrieve Chuck's computer including the Intersect destroys it, CIA agent Sarah Walker is instructed to bring Chuck into custody to find out why Bryce sent him the Intersect. Since the NSA has the same plan, there is some fighting between the secret services, who should get Chuck now, until Chuck suddenly accesses the data of the intersect with a "brainstorm" and can use this information to prevent an attack. The CIA and NSA recognize that the entire Intersect is stored in Chuck's brain, and therefore each place one of their agents undercover in Chuck's life to protect the Intersect: Casey becomes Chuck's new colleague in Buy More, and Sarah plays Chucks from now on Girlfriend.
2 | 2 | Chuck versus the helicopter | Chuck Versus the Helicopter | Oct 1, 2007 | June 24, 2009 | Robert Duncan McNeill | Josh Schwartz & Chris Fedak |
Sarah is employed at the 'Wienerlicious' across the street from Buy More and plays Chuck's friend. She goes on a date with him again so that he can try NSA scientist Doctor Zarnow to get the intersect out of Chuck's head. Sarah and Casey make sure that the doctor does not find out Chuck's identity for mutual protection. The night after the first session, the doctor is murdered in his car with an NSA cell phone bomb. Sarah and Casey suspect each other and forbid Chuck to interact with each other. When another cell phone bomb is detonated in Casey's car, Chuck and Casey suspect Sarah. At this moment she is with Chuck's best friend Morgan, Chuck's sister Ellie and her friend 'Kapitän Abgefahren' ('Captain Awesome') to eat together. Cuck suspects that Sarah poisoned the dessert and uses a trick to set it on fire. It turns out that neither Sarah nor Casey Zarnow killed, but that he only faked his death in order to kidnap and torture Sarah until she reveals Chuck's identity to him. When Casey and Chuck try to save Sarah, Chuck reveals himself and finds out with a flash of inspiration that Zarnow has been revealing American scientific secrets to North Korea for years. The latter then drugged him and tried to kidnap him in a helicopter. However, the tranquilizer arrow is intercepted by Chuck's nerd stove name tag, so that he soon wakes up again and can stun the pilot and Zarnow as well. With Sarah's help, he manages to land the helicopter safely. The episode ends with Bryce's funeral and NSA General Beckman's message to Casey that he should kill Chuck when the new Intersect is complete.

In the context of a picture from Iran, plutonium is smuggled up to an art auction in Los Angeles. There the arms dealer La Ciudad, of which there is not even a photo because everyone who saw his face was murdered, wants to buy the picture including plutonium. At the art auction, Chuck thinks he has found La Ciudad because of a flash of inspiration, and Sarah starts a conversation, but after a short while is whisked onto the roof with a gun in her back. Casey rushes to her rescue; on the roof, however, it turns out that the supposed La Ciudad and his team are in fact international agents. Meanwhile, Chuck partially reveals himself to Ms. Milena because he tells her that he is more interested in the frame than in the picture and his code name Charles Carmichael is revealed by Morgan on the phone. When Chuck discovers a wound on Milena's neck while dancing, he realizes with a flash of inspiration that she is La Ciudad. Milena takes Chuck with her two bodyguards to her room and interrogates him. His watch with GPS tracking device saves him because Sarah and Casey can locate him in time. The next day she tries to take out Chuck by sending her bodyguards to Buy More and climbing onto the roof of the Wienerlicious with a sniper rifle. The two bodyguards are killed by Casey and La Ciudad meets Sarah on her way to the roof, who follows her and fights with her on the roof and defeats her.

Carina, Sarah's friend, former colleague and DEA agent, meets with Sarah because she is on a mission to steal a drug diamond. General Beckman gives the assignment to support Carina. She tells Chuck that Sarah and Bryce were a couple, which causes complications as the episode progresses. To find out the exact location of the diamond, Chuck, Sarah and Carina go to a party organized by the owner, Peyman. While the party is taking place outside, the three of them penetrate the villa and locate the diamond. Peyman catches them standing in front of the diamond. Sarah distracts him so that Chuck and Carina can check the safety precautions more closely. Carina decides to improvise and steals the diamond. She gives it to Chuck and turns off the guards with Sarah and they flee to the beach. Because Sarah was not honest with him, Chuck gives the diamonds to Carina, who flees and leaves Chuck and Sarah on the beach. You are saved by Casey; he also built a transmitter in Carina's cell phone so he can track her. He tracks her down in her hotel and asks for the diamond, but she secretly put it in Morgan's pocket when he was at the hotel. She doesn't tell Casey that, but asks him to do a body search. Because Casey has not been heard for a long time, Sarah looks for him and finds him tied to Carina's bed in boxer shorts and a T-shirt. Meanwhile, Chuck finds the diamond in Morgan's pocket and gets a flash of inspiration. He tells him that the diamond is not a drug diamond, but is intended to buy weapons for Afghan terrorists. Carina tries to steal the diamond from Chuck, but Chuck convinces her to save Sarah, who is being held by Peyman in the hotel. Peyman just wants the diamond and also threatens Chuck and Carina with many of his agents. Sarah and Carina manage to take out the opponents while Chuck runs away with the diamond and inadvertently sends it to an unknown address. At the end of the episode you can see that the diamond was sent to General Beckman in Washington DC. In addition, when she says goodbye, Carina indicates that Sarah is in love with Chuck.
5 | 5 | Chuck versus the shrimp | Chuck Versus the Sizzling Shrimp | Oct 22, 2007 | June 30, 2009 | David Solomon | Scott Rosenbaum |
Morgan wants to do a 'Morgan evening' with Chuck, Sarah and Ellie. He goes to the Chinese restaurant 'Bamboo Dragon' with Sarah and Chuck to get Sizzling Shrimps. However, due to a private event, they are closed to normal customers; but Morgan goes into the kitchen and gets some there. In the kitchen, Chuck gets a flash of inspiration from a waitress who is the Chinese super spy Mei-Ling. Chuck believes she is here to kill half-Chinatown owner Ben Lo Pan. Mei-Ling carries out her attack in a club, and although Ben Lo Pan is in a wheelchair and an old man, he can save himself with Chuck's help. Chuck sees that a Chinese man is tied up and placed in the trunk of the car that Lo Pan is bringing to safety. Mei-Ling storms out of the club on the way out and explains to Chuck that the wheelchair user is a member of the triads, the Chinese mafia, and that the man in the trunk is her brother. The next day, Mei-Ling Chuck calls Buy More and tells him that her brother will only live seven hours because of an ultimatum. Chuck tells this to Sarah and Casey, who then search the Buy More for her. Mei-Ling disguises himself as a delivery woman and confronts Chuck again, this time in the presence of Casey and Sarah, and Chuck suggests that his team help free her brother if she overflows. She agrees and goes to Lo Pan's villa with Sarah and Casey; the easy way into the villa was an ambush and the three agents are captured and brought to the Bamboo Dragon. Chuck distracts the guards with fireworks and frees everyone. The three top spies take out all the guards and this time really capture Lo Pan. Unfortunately during the mission, Chuck missed his and Ellie's most important holiday, Mother's Day, when their mother left them. Chuck clears it up by making up for Mother's Day the next day.
