Chymchyn ( Ukrainian Химчин ; Russian Химчин Chimtschin , Polish Chomczyn ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast Ivano-Frankivsk with about 2800 inhabitants (2012).
The village, founded in 1590, was until 2018 the only place in the 60 km² district council of the same name in the north-east of Kosiv district , on March 6, 2018 the village became part of the newly founded rural community Roschniw (Рожнівська сільська громада / Roschromadawska silska howa ).
The village is located in the east of the historical Galicia on the bank of the Chymchynets ( Химчинець ), an approximately 12 km long left tributary of the Rybnytsya ( Pruth river system ) 13 km northeast of the Kosiv district center and 90 km southeast of the Ivano-Frankivsk oblast center .
Chymchyn borders in the south on the village Verbowez , in the east on Pistyn , in the north on the village Tratsch and in the southeast on Roschniw .
