Cieszyno (Świdwin)

Cieszyno (German name: Teschenbusch ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the rural community (gmina wiejska) Świdwin ( Schivelbein ) in the Świdwin County .

Geographical location

Cieszyno is located five kilometers northwest of Świdwin on the road to Lekowo ( Leckow ). The train station is Świdwin on the Stargard Szczeciński – Gdańsk railway line .

Local history

Teschenbusch was first mentioned in a document in 1629. Back then, Teschenbusch was " a desert field mark ". The village was probably only founded in the 17th century.

In 1877 12000 were near the place Finke Eyes (2950 grams zwölflotigen silver) out plowing.

In 1894 three farmers were counted in Teschenbusch. The population in 1939 was 146 people in 36 households. The community area was 668 hectares.

Seed grain and seed potatoes were grown on the simple soils of the manor and four farmers. The estate also had a flock of 300 sheep.

Teschenbusch belonged to the district of Schivelbein until 1932, when it was incorporated into the district of Belgard (Persante) . Teschenbusch was assigned to the Wopersnow official and registry office district . The competent district court was Schivelbein.

In March 1945 Teschenbusch was occupied by Russian troops. The local population was displaced . The place came under Polish administration as Cieszyno and today belongs to Gmina Świdwin - and now again in the Schivelbein district .

Teschenbusch belonged to the parish of Leckow in the parish of Rützenhagen in the parish of Schivelbein in the church province of Pomerania in the Protestant church of the Old Prussian Union until 1945 . The last German clergyman was Dr. jur. Walter Lüdke.

Today Cieszyno is in the parish of Koszalin ( Köslin ) of the Pomeranian-Greater Poland diocese of the Polish Evangelical-Augsburg Church .

There was a one-class elementary school in Teschenbusch.
