Rusinowo (Świdwin)

Rusinowo (German name: Rützenhagen, Belgard-Schivelbein district ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gmina Świdwin ( Schivelbein ) in the Świdwin County .

Geographical location

The elongated farming village of Rusinowo is located twelve kilometers west of Świdwin on the voivodship road No. 152 Szczecinek ( Neustettin ) - Barwice ( Bärwalde ) - Połczyn-Zdrój ( Bad Polzin ) - Świdwin - Starogard ( Stargordt ) - ( Resko ( rain forest )). The nearest train stations are Starogard (6 km) on the Łobez ( Labes ) –Resko ( rain forest ) - Płoty ( Plathe ) line and Świdwin on the Stargard Szczeciński – Gdańsk railway line .

In the west, the Mołstowa ( Molstow ), a tributary of the Rega , forms the municipal boundary and also the border with the neighboring district of Labes .

The residential areas Damska ( Bratenberg ), Przybyradz ( Bullenberg ), Śliwno ( Fülgen ) and Zydlung ( Schönfeld ) belong to the village .

Local history

In the northwestern tip of the village, on the left bank of the Molstow, there are remains of a rampart from the 9th to 11th centuries. A knight's castle is said to have stood there to protect against the Pomeranians.

In 1493 a clergyman of the church in Rützenhagen is named. In 1500, Elector Joachim and Albrecht I of Brandenburg-Ansbach enfeoffed Gevattern Rützen with ten hooves.

In 1726, a fire destroyed half the village including the church, rectory and school. In 1760 Pastor Steinbrück reports on massive looting by the Russian army during the Seven Years' War .

Before 1811 there were nine farmers and four half-farmers in Rützenhagen.

Siegmund von Brockhausen had been the landlord since 1785, then Adolf von Brockhausen (1832) and Karl von Dönhoff (1835).

In 1843 the village had 371 inhabitants, in 1862 there were already 644. Since 1879 there was a postal agency with private vehicles to Schivelbein, in 1882 a brickworks and a telegraph station are mentioned.

In 1939 there were 669 inhabitants in 70 households in the 2,065.6 hectare community. The light to medium-heavy soil was cultivated by 15 farmers and the forest estate of Countess Eugenie von Wallwitz (née Countess von Dönhoff). In the village there was a bakery, three shoemakers, a blacksmith's shop, a wheelwright, a carpentry shop, an electrical company, a gardening shop and an inn with a hall and grocery store.

Until 1932 Rützenhagen belonged to the district of Schivelbein, until it was incorporated into the district of Belgard (Persante) . The last mayor before 1945 was Heinrich Jöres.

Rützenhagen was assigned to the Lankow district and registry office and was in the area of ​​the Schivelbein District Court.

Parish

Rützenhagen was an independent parish and formed the parish of Rützenhagen with the daughter parish of Leckow . Boltenhagen , Schönfeld and Teschenbusch were also parish . In 1940 the parish had 1515 parishioners.

Until 1945 Rützenhagen belonged to the church district Schivelbein in the church province of Pomerania of the Protestant church of the Old Prussian Union .

Today Rusinowo is part of the parish Koszalin ( Köslin ) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Polish Evangelical-Augsburg Church .

Parish church

In place of the church that burned down in 1726, a new church was built in 1768. But less than a hundred years later, in 1853, a new church was built. It is made of field stones and bricks, the wooden tower has a swiveled-in tent roof.

school

In 1726 the old schoolhouse burned down. In 1882 a two-class elementary school is mentioned in Rützenhagen. The last time before 1945 taught here the teachers Hans Jahnke and Kurt Köbsel.

Personality of the place

On September 28, 1880, the writer and Pomeranian local poet Richard Bartz was born in Rützenhagen . He was closely connected to his homeland until his death on November 20, 1955.
