Kartlewo (Świdwin)
Kartlewo (German name: Kartlow bei Schivelbein ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the rural municipality Świdwin ( Schivelbein ) in Świdwin County .
Geographical location
Kartlewo is a street village with a former manor and is located twelve kilometers northwest of Świdwin on a side road from Świdwin via Lekowo ( Leckow ) to Ząbrowo ( Semerow ). The community is surrounded by large areas of forest.
Local history
Kartlow was first mentioned in a document in 1563, when Duke Erich von Braunschweig and an army group were traveling through the town from Danzig. In 1569 Dionis Scharn sold eight Hufen to Kartlow in the town of Schivelbein in Feldmark.
As a result of the Thirty Years' War in Kartlow in 1679 only two of the former five farms are still inhabited. In 1736 there were eight farmers again.
During the Seven Years' War , the place again suffered from troop movements.
In 1806 the landowner was Major von Brockhausen .
Kartlow was part of the Schivelbein district until 1932, when it was incorporated into the Belgard district (Persante) . Kartlow was in the administrative and civil registry district Schlenzig (Polish: Słowieńsko) in the district court area Schivelbein.
In 1939 there were 100 inhabitants in 23 households in the 812.0 hectare community. The estate was managed by the Countess von Wallnitz.
On March 3, 1945, Kartlow was occupied by Russian troops . The local population was displaced . The village came under Polish administration and today, as Kartlewo, is part of the Świdwin rural community.

Parish
Kartlow was an independent parish until 1945. With the parishes Semerow and Berkenow they formed the parish Semerow that the church district Schivelbein in the church Pomerania the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union belonged.
The parish had a total of 830 parishioners in 1940, 74 of whom belonged to the parish of Kartlow. The church patronage for Kartlow was incumbent on the Countess von Wallwitz.
Today Kartlewo is part of the parish Koszalin ( Köslin ) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Polish Evangelical-Augsburg Church .
Village church
Kartlow had a simple half-timbered church with a three-sided conclusion. The tower was half in front of the west side. The church no longer exists.
