history

In 1540 Polchlep is mentioned as a property of the Order of St. John . The place might not have existed a few decades earlier. In 1736 Polchlep was subordinated to the Schivelbein Castle Mill (until 1808). In 1834 there were 80 inhabitants, in 1861 there were 96, and in 1939 201 (in 45 households).

In 1939 the community area totaled 796.9 hectares. Most of the population worked in agriculture.

Until 1945 the village belonged to the district court area Schivelbein. Together with Panzerin and Schlönwitz, it formed the administrative district of Schlönwitz, which belonged to the district of Schivelbein until 1932, when it was integrated into the district of Belgard (Persante) . Panzerin, Schlönwitz and Polchlep also formed the common registry office district Schlönwitz.

At the beginning of March 1945, Polchlep was captured by Russian troops. The expulsion of the local population began in autumn 1945. Polchlep came into Polish hands as Półchleb and is now part of Gmina Świdwin in the Powiat Świdwiński .
