Circasia is a municipality ( municipio ) in the department of Quindío in Colombia's coffee-growing region (eje cafetero) .

geography

Circasia lies at an altitude of about 1772 m above sea level. NN 12 km north of Armenia and has an average annual temperature of 18 ° C. Circasia borders Filandia to the north, Armenia to the south, Montenegro and Quimbaya to the west, and Salento to the east .

history

The region was settled from Antioquia from the 19th century . Circasia was founded in 1884 and received parish status in 1906.
