Ciro de Chiara
Ciro de Chiara (* 1967 in Cologne ) is a German actor .
Life
De Chiara, son of a Cologne native and a Neapolitan, grew up in Cologne, where his parents ran an ice cream parlor. His love for acting was awakened by his father, who not only made his ice cream parlor available as a location for Fassbinder's "Eight Hours Are Not a Day", but also played supporting roles in films by Peter Beauvais and Jürgen Flimm . However, after the application for his son Ciro for two children's productions of the WDR was unsuccessful, the latter increasingly turned to the sport. He learned judo and karate and, among other things, played American football from the youth team to the first division.
Professionally, de Chiara tried his hand at a commercial employee, but was also active in gastronomy , as a page in a Cologne hotel and in the security area for events. Finally, the appearance as an extra in Peter Strohm led him back to acting and taking up language lessons and role studies. This resulted in a first guest role at the Cologne Schauspielhaus, which was followed by a long-term engagement. At the same time he worked in a number of film and television productions, was active in radio and dubbing.
De Chiara has shot in five languages so far and has appeared in front of the camera in Germany, England, Spain and Italy. He is popular for roles that require an accent in Italian, Russian, Eastern European, Spanish, or Turkish.
