Ckochas is a town in the Potosí department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Ckochas is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Ckochas and is located in the canton of Ckochas in the province of José María Linares . The village is located at an altitude of 3350  m in the Chimpa Pata Pampa plain in the source area of ​​the Quebrada Sala Khasamayu , which flows into the Rio Miculpaya and flows over the Río Mataca to the Río Pilcomayo .

Ckochas is located at a distance of 70 kilometers by road east of Potosí , the capital of the department.

From Potosí, the national highway Ruta 5 leads northeast via Betanzos to Sucre and on towards Santa Cruz in the Bolivian lowlands. East of Betanzos after seventeen kilometers a country road branches off in a south-easterly direction and after eight kilometers reaches Ckochas, after which it winds in serpentines down to Esquiri (2625 m) on the Río Miculpaya, twelve kilometers away .
