Claude Cueni (born January 13, 1956 in Basel ) is a Swiss writer .

Life

Writing activity

After years of teaching and traveling in Europe, Claude Cueni wrote his first novel in 1980. Since then he has published crime novels , radio plays , theater plays and wrote over 50 screenplays for film and television ( crime scene , Eurocops , Peter Strohm , The clown , Alarm for Cobra 11 ) , which were filmed and is now broadcast in 46 countries.

His main work is the monumental 1500-page trilogy on «Money, Gods and Passion», which u. a. the story of money told in three epochs:

With the first volume of Caesar's Druid , he achieved international success in 1998. The moral painting about Julius Caesar's Gallic War was based on the latest Caesar research and has been translated into numerous languages. The second volume, Das Große Spiel , was published in 2006 and told the adventurous story of the math genius John Law , who lived as a condemned card player and womanizer during the time of the Sun King and who introduced paper money in France.
