Claudia Salcedo started on an international level between 2003 and 2005. In Ridnaun she gave in 2003 her debut in the European Cup , where they 50th of the sprint was. A little later she won first points in Obertilliach as 29th of a single. The climax of the season was the 2003 Military World Ski Championships in Rovaniemi , where Salcedo was 34th in the 10-kilometer freestyle in cross-country skiing . In the next European Cup season the Chilean reached her best place in the European Cup as 20th of a sprint in Gurnigel . Once again, the 2004 World Ski Championships in Östersund were 48th in the sprint, eleventh with Ana Maria Palma , Verónica Isbej and Claudia Barrenechea in the military patrol and 38th in the 10-kilometer freestyle in cross-country skiing. In 2005 she started for several races in the biathlon world cup . In her first individual in Cesana San Sicario she was 104. Best place was an 87th place in the sprint of Pokljuka . Salcedo started in August 2010 at the Biathlon South American Championships in Portillo and Bariloche . In the championship, which was held as a racing series, Salcedo was the individual winner in Portillo ahead of Silvia Herrera and Mirlene Picin and second in the sprint race and in the mass start behind Picin and in front of Herrera. Like all Chileans, she did not take part in the races in Argentina because of an earthquake in her home country. In the overall standings, in which only three races entered, she took first place and thus became the South American champion.
