Claudine von Villa Bella (1776) is a play with singing by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe . It has been set to music several times, including by Johann Friedrich Reichardt ( 1789 ), Franz Schubert ( 1815 ) and Engelbert Humperdinck (1868–1872; EHWV 5).

With the Singspiel, Goethe consciously set himself apart from the tradition oriented towards opéra comique and opera buffa and implemented the thoughts and motifs of Sturm und Drang in operetta form. The piece originally alternated between dialogues in prose and vocal parts. During the Italian trip Goethe put the prose parts in blank verse and also revised the vocal part.
