Claudio Majer (born March 23, 1996 in Vaduz ) is a Liechtenstein football player . The goalkeeper is a Liechtenstein national player and has been under contract with USV Eschen-Mauren in the Swiss 1st division since January 2019 .

Career

Majer spent his youth career at FC Schaan and later in the youth team of the Liechtenstein Football Association . In the 2011/12 season he moved to the U-18 youth team of FC Vaduz . In the 2012/13 and 2013/14 season he moved to FC Vaduz in the Challenge League , under coach Erik Orie , although he was only used in the Swiss U18 youth league. In the 2014/15 season he moved to FC Balzers in the Swiss first division. On May 30, 2017, he extended his contract for another year. After the relegation of FC Balzers in the 2017/18 season, Majer moved to FC Linth 04 in the Swiss first division in August 2018 . After just one month, the player's contract was terminated. Majer moved to Stadtclub Chur 97 with a half-year contract until December 31, 2018, where he was in the first and second team. In the second half of the 2018/19 season, Majer again moved to the Swiss 1st division for USV Eschen-Mauren .

National team

In qualifying for the U21 European Football Championship 2015/16 , he made his debut on March 28, 2015 in the qualifying match against Albania . Majer played a total of 15 international qualifying matches for the U-21 national football team, making him the goalkeeper with the most games in this category. Majer has been part of the Liechtenstein senior team since January 2017 .

His younger brother Armando Majer (born May 12, 1999) is also a football goalkeeper . He is currently also playing for USV Eschen-Mauren in the Swiss first division. His father Sven Majer (born October 29, 1967) is currently a football coach at FC Schaan . Before that, he was the junior coach of FC Ruggell and coach of the U-13 youth team of the Liechtenstein Football Association.
