Claudius Schraudolph the Younger (born February 4, 1843 in Munich , † January 4, 1902 in St. Michael in Eppan , South Tyrol , Italy) was a German painter and illustrator.

Schraudolph the Elder J., son of Johann Schraudolph , was a student of his father, Hermann Anschütz and Johann Georg Hiltensperger . He was an assistant with the paintings in Speyer Cathedral and initially painted religious paintings, but turned to genre painting from 1866.

In the campaigns of 1866 and 1870 he was involved as a first lieutenant.

From June 1883 to 1894 he was director of the Royal Art School in Stuttgart. To distinguish him from his painting uncle, who is also called Claudius, he is called "the younger".

Of his delicately treated and sensitively conceived pictures the most outstanding are:

  • Girl at the piano
  • Easter walk from " Faust "
  • Quartet on a Venetian terrace
  • Dolce far niente

He has also drawn numerous illustrations for woodblock prints and done decorative paintings.
