Clemens Busch (diplomat)
Clemens August Busch (born May 20, 1834 in Cologne , † November 25, 1895 in Bern ) was a German diplomat and State Secretary in the Foreign Office of the German Empire .
His parents were the conductor Johann Michael Busch (1802-1864) and his wife Barbara Philippart (1800-1883).
From 1879 to 1881 Busch was the Imperial German Consul General in Budapest .
From June 25 to July 16, 1881, he was temporarily acting State Secretary in the Foreign Office as the successor to Friedrich zu Limburg-Stirum . His successor was then the previous ambassador in Constantinople , Paul von Hatzfeld zu Trachenberg .
In 1884 he was appointed to the Prussian State Council. From 1885 to 1888 he was envoy of the German Empire in Bucharest , from 1888 to 1892 in Stockholm and from 1892 until his death in 1895 in Bern. He was buried there in the Bremgarten cemetery.
family
He married Margot Bendemann (1850–1938) in Berlin in 1875 , the widow of Justus Friedländer (1835–1873), German consul in Constantinople, and sister of the Prussian Lieutenant General Hans Bendemann (1852–1914). He adopts his stepson Felix Emil Johannes Friedländer as Felix Busch . The couple had several children including:
- Clemens (born July 23, 1879 - † November 6, 1966), district president in Cologne
- Ernst (December 8, 1887 - May 31, 1973), Consul General
- Beate ∞ Adam Mauritz August von Eckermann, Swedish chief naval director and chief of the marine engineering corps
