Click.to

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

click.to is a desktop application based on the copy & paste principle . It identifies the content saved in the clipboard and automatically offers the user suitable program functions or website calls in a quick selection context menu .

functionality

The concept behind the program is the copy & paste concept of storing files or the content of a document from an application in the buffer and later using them from there in the same or in another application. After the installation click.to runs automatically in the background. As soon as the user uses the clipboard, the program identifies the possible further use options and offers them to the user in a context menu above the mouse pointer . The program independently and automatically carries out all the steps that normally lie between the current application and the target application. This includes, for example, opening programs or websites, performing search queries or entering login data.

Actions

The user can decide individually which functions of the freeware he would like to use or which functions click.to should be expanded with. The standard package supplied with the Windows installation contains 46 standard actions, the Mac version has 48 actions available. The standard actions are broken down as follows:

General actions Windows specific actions Mac OS x specific actions

Extensions

Users and developers are given the opportunity to add their own functions and search queries either via an embedded mask or by using the click.to API .

System requirement

click.to is currently supported by the Windows 2000 , XP , Vista and Windows 7 operating systems , the latter in both the 32-bit and the 64-bit version. A version for Mac OS X was released in October 2011.

competitor

The program is similar in function to the " Quick Info " (Engl. Accelerators ), as add-on of Internet Explorer can be installed. After installation, this program also offers quick selection functions within the browser functions in a small context menu above the mouse pointer.
