Clifford Madison

Clifford Madison (born September 28, 1962 in Los Angeles ) is an American football coach and former player.

Life

Madison played as a student at Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles from 1978 to 1981 before playing at college level at the University of Colorado Boulder (1982 and 1983) and at Pasadena City College (1984 and 1985). In 1986 and 1987, the 1.82-meter-long quarterback was part of the training squad of the NFL team Los Angeles Raiders , in 1988 and 1989 he played for the Chicago Bruisers in the indoor football league AFL .

In 1989 Madison came to Germany to the Berlin Adlers , with whom he became German champions in the 1989, 1990 and 1991 seasons. In 1990 he reached the Eurobowl with Berlin , but lost it as well as the 1993 final for the German championship. The American left the Adler in 1995.

In the 1996 season Madison worked in a double function (player and attack coordinator) for the second division Berlin Rebels and won the northern season of the second division with the team. In 1997 he held the same dual position with the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes and moved into the championship round of the top German league for the first time in the club's history with the team from the state capital of Schleswig-Holstein . In 1998 he also played for Kiel, in 1999 he went back to the federal capital and was responsible for coordinating the attacking game on the Berlin Adler coaching staff before he was transferred to the position of interim coach during the season.

For the 2000 season Madison went as an attack coordinator for the second division Dresden Monarchs , but was promoted to head coach over the course of the season. In 2001, the Saxons were runner-up in the second division north under his leadership. In 2002 he led Dresden to the GFL . In 2003 and 2004 he worked as head coach for the Hamburg Silver Eagles and in 2005 for the Hanover Musketeers (both in the 2nd division).

In the 2006 game he went to Austria to the Carinthian Black Lions and acted as head coach. In mid-June 2006, he was dismissed because of the team’s athletic situation. Later in the year Madison was again a member of the Berlin Adler coaching staff. He worked as attack coordinator for the Adler until the end of the 2008 season, and in 2009 he returned to the city rivals Berlin Rebels. There he took up the post of head coach. He led the team to the first division promotion, in the course of the 2010 season it came to a separation.

From 2011 he was head coach of the Neuruppin White Tigers. In the 2011 season he led the team to promotion to the regional league. In August 2012, the team was canceled from the game for economic reasons. In 2012 he was a member of the coaching staff of the joint youth team of Berlin and Brandenburg. In the 2013 season Madison looked after the Düsseldorf Panther as head coach in the GFL, after the game year they separated.

In 2014 he worked for the Potsdam Royals , where he was responsible for the wide receivers and the players with special tasks. In the same year he became a full-time kindergarten teacher. In the run-up to the 2015 game year, he returned to the Berlin Rebels again and took on the task of coordinating the players with special tasks in the coaching staff of the first division club from Charlottenburg and worked in the attack coordination, then he was responsible for looking after the quarterback position. In March 2018, Madison also became the new head coach of the youth team in Berlin and Brandenburg. At the end of October 2019, he was assigned the task of attack coordinator at the Berlin Rebels.
