Cococciola is a white wine that is mainly grown in the Italian regions of Abruzzo and Puglia . It is recommended to grow them in the provinces of L'Aquila , Chieti and Pescara (all in the Abruzzo region). It is also approved in the provinces of Teramo and Foggia . Smaller vineyards in Argentina, Brazil, France and Spain are also known. In Italy, 1,428 hectares of planted vineyards were raised in 1982 . The wines of the late-ripening variety are used almost exclusively in blends with other varieties. The white wines are included in the DOC wine Trebbiano d'Abruzzo .
