Colin Cameron Davies

Colin Cameron Davies MHM (born June 10, 1924 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria , † January 8, 2017 in Argentina ) was a Spanish religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Ngong in Kenya .

Life

Colin Cameron Davies joined the religious order of the Mill Hill Missionaries in and received on 13 July 1952, the priestly ordination .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on July 9, 1964 as Apostolic Prefect of Ngong . He attended the third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

With the elevation of the prefecture to the diocese on December 9, 1976 Davies was appointed the first bishop of Ngong. The Archbishop of Nairobi , Maurice Michael Cardinal Otunga , donated him episcopal ordination on February 27 of the next year ; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Agostino Cacciavillan , Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Kenya, and John Njenga , Bishop of Eldoret .

On November 23, 2002, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
