Colloma is a town in the Potosí Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Colloma is the central place of the canton Colloma in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Sacaca in the province of Alonso de Ibáñez . The village is located at an altitude of 3360 m in one of the high valleys of the Cordillera Azanaques , the mountain ridges directly east of the village rise to over 4000 m. The place is located on the Río Chayanta , which is called "Río San Pedro" further downstream and flows into the Río Grande .

Colloma is located on the northwestern edge of the Bolivian Cordillera Central . The climate of the region is a typical time of day climate , in which the mean temperature fluctuations during the day are more pronounced than during the year.

Transport network
Colloma is located 165 kilometers by road southeast of Oruro , the capital of the neighboring Oruro department .
From Oruro, the paved road Ruta 1 leads south 22 kilometers via Vinto to Machacamarquita , eight kilometers north of Machacamarca . In Machacamarquita, the route 6 branches off in a south-easterly direction and reaches the city of Llallagua after 79 kilometers via Huanuni and over pass heights of more than 4,500 m . From there the Ruta 6 leads another seven kilometers to the provincial capital Uncía . Here a dirt road branches off to the east, reaches Chayanta after seventeen kilometers and continues in a north-easterly direction via Irupata to Colloma .

Due to the historical population development, the region has a high proportion of Quechua population, in the Municipio Sacaca 84.5 percent of the population speak the Quechua language.
