Comanche is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Comanche is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Comanche in the province of Pacajes . The village is located on the Bolivian plateau at an altitude of 4042 m on the La Paz - Arica railway line .
geography
Comanche is located between the mountain ranges of the Cordillera Oriental and the Cordillera Central in the Andean dry climate of the Altiplano The region has a pronounced daytime air on, wherein the central temperature variations during the day be more pronounced than in the course of the seasons.

Comanche is located 78 kilometers by road southwest of La Paz , the capital of the department.
From La Paz, the Ruta 2 trunk road leads to the neighboring town of El Alto , from there Ruta 19 in a south-westerly direction via Viacha towards Caquiaviri and on to Charaña on the Chilean border. Thirty kilometers south of Viacha, Ruta 19 leaves the parallel railway line and crosses the river valley to the west; from here a dirt road leads along the railway line for another thirteen kilometers to the south to Comanche and on to Coro Coro .
