The Communauté de communes des Vallées d'Ax is a former French community association with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Ariège department in the Occitania region . It was created after a decree of January 10, 2002 retrospectively to January 1, 2002 and comprised 39 communities. The administrative seat was in Luzenac .

Historical development

With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association merged

and thus formed the successor organization Communauté de communes de la Haute Ariège .

In addition to regional planning , the tasks of the community association also included the financial participation in two hostels and the maintenance of 15 mountain huts and a television station . In addition, the settlement of companies was supported and the disposal of household waste was organized. In addition, the Communauté de communes was responsible for the maintenance of three libraries and a sports stadium as well as social housing .
