The Communist Party of Britain ( English : Communist Party of Britain ) is a communist party in Great Britain .

The party was founded in 1988 as a split from the Communist Party of Great Britain (CPGB), founded in 1920 , which in turn dissolved in 1991. Its founders accused the CPGB of a revisionist departure from the teaching of the leading role of the working class in the revolutionary struggle for a classless society . The party demands, among other things, the exit from the European Union and NATO . The current chairman is Robert Griffiths and Liz Payne is vice chairman .

The party publishes several publications, including the Morning Star newspaper . It also has a youth organization ( Young Communist League ).

In 2014 the party had 917 members.

The party has not yet stood in any general election nationwide, but has not yet won any seats. The Communist Party has never come out above 0.6 percent in any constituency.
