Constantin Bauer (writer)

Constantin Hermann Sigismund Bauer , also Konstantin Bauer , (born July 27, 1883 in Blasewitz , † October 14, 1966 in Bielefeld ) was a German writer .

Life

Born in Blasewitz, Constantin Bauer, son of a businessman , turned to studying German at the University of Leipzig , the University of Geneva and the University of Oxford after graduating from high school . In 1907 he acquired the academic degree of Dr. phil. In the same year, Constantin Bauer accepted an appointment as lecturer for modern German literature at the University of Dijon . In 1909 Constantin Bauer accepted a senior teaching position at the grammar school in Wolfenbüttel , and in 1921 he was appointed to the teaching staff .

Constantin Bauer, friend of the near Braunschweig living Wilhelm Raabe , counted in 1911, a year after his death, the founders of the Society of Friends Wilhelm Raabe whose messages he published. Bauer's literary work includes several writings about Raabe, fairy tales and legends from the Braunschweig area and the Harz Mountains and stories . Bauer also published in French and English.
