Corinne Jorry

Corinne Jorry (born April 23, 1943 in Proyes ) is a French costume designer .

Life

Corinne Jorry's film career began in 1974 with Louis Malles drama Lacombe, Lucien, which played during World War II . This was followed by other film dramas such as The Old Rifle (1975) with Philippe Noiret and Romy Schneider in the leading roles, for which Jorry designed the costumes, but also film comedies such as Claude Zidi's Inspector Loulou - Die Knallschote vom Dienst (1980) and Costa-Gavra's Honorable Crooks (1986). For Alain Corneau's war film Fort Saganne with Gérard Depardieu and Catherine Deneuve , set in the Sahara , Jorry received her first nomination for César in the category Best Costumes , which she won in 1992 for Corneau's historical film The Seventh String . In the same year, Jorry was nominated for an Oscar for Claude Chabrol's literary adaptation Madame Bovary with Isabelle Huppert in the title role . Jorry worked several times with Chabrol and Huppert, including on Das Leben ist ein Spiel (1997).
