Cornelius (Cornell) Glen (born October 21, 1981 in Port of Spain ) is a football player from Trinidad and Tobago . The striker is currently under contract with the University of Trinidad and Tobago football team , which plays in the second Trinidadian league (the TT Super League).

Career

Glen began his professional football career in 1999 in Trinidad and Tobago with Futgof , in the 2000/01 season he was briefly under contract in the second Portuguese division, but could not establish himself, so that he returned to the domestic league for the 2002 season, this time to the San Juan Jabloteh , returned. His 38 goals in the two seasons 2002 and 2003 secured San Juan the first and so far only championships and thus qualification for the CONCACAF Champions Cup . In the quarterfinal first leg of the 2004 CONCACAF Champions Cup against Chicago Fire from the MLS, he managed a hat trick that won him a contract with the New York Red Bulls . In the remaining 18 games of the season he scored six goals and made two assists; Nevertheless, he moved due to the SuperDraft regulation after the end of the season to FC Dallas , but they passed him on to Columbus Crew without any use at the beginning of the 2005 season . After a rather mixed season for Columbus with only four goals from 22 games, he was sold to the Colorado Rapids for the 2006 season . He only stayed there for a very short time, after the season opener he was sold to the Los Angeles Galaxy . There he was able to score two goals in the first four games, but soon injured himself so badly that his use at the World Cup was in question, so that he was no longer used at the beginning of the preparation for the 2006 World Cup. He then played for San Juan Jabloteh for a few years, but moved to San Jose Earthquakes in 2009 where he scored his first goal on May 30, 2009. In April 2011 he joined Celedonia AIA. In December 2011 he went to the Vietnamese Sông Lam Nghệ An for 6 months . On June 17, 2013, he moved to Shillon Lajong FC in India. From 2014 to 2016 he was loaned to the Indian club NorthEast United FC, and in 2016 to the Indian Mohun Bagan AC . In 2016 he moved to the second-rate club Ozone FC from Bengaluru , which loaned him to Bengaluru FC in 2017 . In the same year, Glen left India and signed with the soccer team of the University of Trinidad and Tobago , which plays in the second Trinidadian league (the TT Super League).

For the national team of Trinidad and Tobago he already played at the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2005 , but where his team was eliminated without a win as the last of their group in the preliminary round. Glen is a regular for the national team, scoring eleven goals in 35 games so far. In April 2006 he was appointed to his country's selection for the 2006 World Cup in Germany .
