Crantzia is a plant kind from the family of Gesneriad (Gesneriaceae). The four or so species occur only in the Neotropic .
description
They are herbaceous plants or subshrubs of several years . The species grow epiphytically or terrestrially. The simple leaves are mostly opposite.
In the leaf axils the flowers are usually too few together or they are solitary. The hermaphrodite, zygomorphic flowers are five-fold. The five sepals are almost free. The five petals are fused tubular or plate-shaped. The four stamens are more or less connected. Two-lobed capsule fruits are formed that contain many tiny seeds.
