Crew 7 is a German dance project , originally consisting of Dirk Waldt (born July 12, 1976 in Duisburg ) and Michel Diederiks . It had its greatest hits with covers of songs from the 1980s . Dirk Waldt appears as a DJ throughout Germany as Crew 7.

history

The first and most successful single was Eye of the Tiger , a cover version of the song of the same name by Survivor . First the song was released in the UK , later the song also spread to European clubs. The song stayed in the top 10 of the German DJ charts for eight months . In 2007 the song reached number three in the German DJ Playlist (DDP) and made it to number 30 in their annual charts. Such A Shame followed in 2007 and made it to fourth place in the DDP. Get The Party Started was released in 2008 and peaked at number 6.

In 2009 Michel Diederiks left the project. From then on, Frank Eikam, who had already produced with Phil Fuldner and Tommaso De Donatis ( DJ Quicksilver ), joined the project as a new man. In the same year, Shawty Wanna Ride, the first self-composed single, was released, followed by the song Give Into The Bass , which became a club hit in Poland . The Dirty Impact & Funkytunerockers remix of Give Into The Bass reached several million plays on Youtube.

From 2013 , the singles Wild! Came parallel with the emerging open air EDM festival boom . , Hey! and No Alternative and the third album Revolution EDM , which was released on the record label Andorfine Records .

In 2015 & 2016 further cover versions followed. a. by Robin S. , Elvis Crespo , Gloria Estefan and Indeep . With this, Crew 7 returned to the original house sound of the project. With Kill it a single was released in 2015 together with Alpha-X. With the single "Bounce", Crew 7 reached the top 10 in 2015, the top 10 of the German iTunes and Amazon charts. Also the Top 10 of the "German DJ Playlist" and the German DJ Charts

In 2016 the song "Strike it up", a cover version of Black Box from the 90s, was released. "Strike it up" was produced in collaboration with Massimo Nocito, who is a member of the band " Bass Bumpers ".

In 2018 the album "House Generation" was released. A cover version of BLACKstreet - No Diggity and the freestyle classic "Shannon - Let the Music Play " were released on the album.

Over the years, the project has released numerous remixes, including for RIO , Alex C and Kate Ryan .
