Cristian Brocchi (born January 30, 1976 in Milan ) is a former Italian soccer player and today's soccer coach .
Player career
Cristian Brocchi started his career at near Milan nearby AC Pro Sesto . After two seasons he moved to AC Lumezzane , where he was immediately part of the team. For the 1997/98 season Brocchi moved to the traditional club Hellas Verona in Serie B , here too he was able to assert himself immediately and in the first season the promotion to Serie A could be celebrated. For the 2000/01 season Brocchi moved to Inter Milan , but here he was unable to assert himself, which is why he was transferred to city rivals AC Milan after only one season . With the Rossoneri he played four seasons, but without being able to assert himself sustainably. For the 2005/06 season Brocchi was then loaned to the league rivals Fiorentina .
For the 2008/09 season he left AC Milan and moved to Lazio . The Romans paid a transfer fee of two million euros for him. He was supposed to replace Valon Behrami, who had switched to West Ham United , at Lazio .
On May 10, 2013, Cristian Brocchi announced his retirement in a joint statement with Lazio Rome due to continuous injuries.
National team
On November 15, 2006, Cristian Brocchi played the only international match of his career against Turkey under Roberto Donadoni .

Coaching career
Cristian Brocchi began his coaching career in 2014 in the AC Milan youth team. He then succeeded the sacked Siniša Mihajlović on April 13, 2016 as interim coach of the AC Milan first team . He was replaced as head coach on July 1, 2016 by Vincenzo Montella .
