Cristina Raines

Cristina Raines (* 28. February 1952 in Manila , Philippines as Tina Herazo ) is a former American film actress who from 1973 to 1991 in a variety of films and television series has been involved.

Life

Raines had her breakthrough as an actress in 1973 in the film Sunshine , in which she played the role of the young cancer patient Kate, who writes a diary for her little daughter Jill that should help her when she is no longer. The film is based on the true story of Jacqueline M. Helton, which was written by Carol Sobieski from her diaries. In 1975 Raines played a minor role in Robert Altman's film Nashville about the American country music scene. In Ridley Scott's first major feature film The Duelists from 1977, based on a story by Joseph Conrad , Raines played alongside Keith Carradine , with whom she was living at the time. In the same year, the actress took the lead in the horror thriller Witches Sabbath , in which she played a model who rented a haunted New York apartment block. In the American mini-series Loose Change from 1978, she embodied one of three friends who remain connected even after their school days. Also in 1978 Raines got the role of Lucinda McKeag Zendt in the historical epic Colorado Saga , a literary film adaptation based on James Michener , which she played in ten episodes of the series. The actress became known to a wide audience through her subsequent leading role in the American soap opera Flamingo Road , which was popular at the time , in which she played the Tingeltangel singer Lane Ballou Curtis. In 1980 Raines appeared in the racing driver film Silver Dream Racer and in 1983 she played a leading role in the horror film Nightmares (German title Nightmares ).

In the following years, Raines appeared in various television series, such as chief physician Dr. Welby , A Colt just in case , murder is her hobby , Alfred Hitchcock Presents , An Angel on Earth , The Model and the Snoop and 1991 in an episode of the American drama series TV Fever (OT: WIOU ).

The actress has been married to writer, director and producer Christopher Crowe since 1984 . The couple have two children.
