Csehbánya is a Hungarian community in the district Ajka in Veszprém County . The district of Újtelep belongs to the municipality .
Geographical location
Csehbánya is about 13 kilometers northeast of the city of Ajka . The river Torna has its source in the municipality . The neighboring municipality is Városlőd .
history
In the second half of the 18th century, glass production played a special role. In 1761, the bishop of Veszprém granted permission to found a new glassworks. So it came to a settlement of glassblowers. In addition to various glasses and bottles, round-shaped window panes in green and white were also produced. In 1796, the bishop of Veszprém closed the forest protection operations.
