Obručné (Hungarian Abroncsos - until 1907 Obrucsnó , Russian Обручне / Obrutschne ) is a municipality in northeastern Slovakia with 29 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Stará Ľubovňa , part of the Prešovský kraj .

Obručné

The municipality is located on the north-western slope of the Čergov Mountains directly on the state border with Poland on the Smrečný potok brook . The center of the village is at an altitude of 647  m nm and is 29 kilometers by road from Stará Ľubovňa .

Neighboring municipalities are Muszyna (districts of Leluchów and Dubne , PL) in the north, Lenartov in the east, Lukov in the south and Ruská Voľa nad Popradom in the west.

history

Obručne was first mentioned in writing in 1636 as Obruczno . In 1787 the village had 14 houses and 88 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 32 houses and 247 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and cattle herders.

The place in Sáros County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, there were 41 inhabitants in Obručné, 38 of them Russian and two Slovaks . One resident gave no information about ethnicity .

39 residents professed their support for the Greek Catholic Church and one resident for the Roman Catholic Church. The denomination of one resident was not determined.
