Ďurková (Hungarian Gyurkó ) is a municipality in northeast Slovakia with 235 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Stará Ľubovňa , part of the Prešovský kraj .

The community is located on the northeast slope of the Leutschauer Berge on the Ľubotínka . The center of the village is located at an altitude of 523  m nm and is 21 kilometers by road from Stará Ľubovňa .

Neighboring municipalities are Plaveč in the north, Ľubotín in the east, Vislanka in the south and Hromoš in the west.

history

Ďurková was created under German law in the 14th century and was first mentioned in writing in 1427 as Gewrkuagasa . In the same year a tax of 10 Porta was paid to the king. The village was part of the territory of the Plaveč Castle . In 1787 the village had 22 houses and 180 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 21 houses and 198 inhabitants who were employed as craftsmen, farmers and cattle keepers. In the 19th century the place became part of the Plaveč municipality.

The place in Sáros County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. In 1958, the village called Ďurka was separated from the municipality of Plaveč and was given its current name.

population

According to the 2011 census, Ďurková had 250 inhabitants, including 226 Slovaks and 14 Russian . 10 residents gave no information on ethnicity .

174 residents supported the Greek Catholic Church, 57 residents the Roman Catholic Church and three residents the Evangelical Church AB. Three residents were non-denominational and 13 residents had no denomination.
