Kolačkov (Slovak until 1927 "Kolačkovo"; German Klautsch , Klotsch or block , Hungarian kalacs - until 1907 Kolacskó ) is a municipality in the northeastern Slovakia with 1,366 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Stará Ľubovňa , part des Prešovský kraj , and is part of the traditional Spiš landscape .

The community is located on the northern edge of the Leutschauer Berge in the valley of the Kolačkovianka brook ( Poprad river system ). The center of the village is at an altitude of 648  m nm and is eight kilometers from Stará Ľubovňa .

Neighboring municipalities are Hniezdne in the north, Nová Ľubovňa in the east, Jakubany in the southeast and Lomnička in the southwest.

history

Kolačkov was built at the end of the 13th century on a piece of land donated to the Spiš Provosty in 1293 and was first mentioned in writing in 1361 as Kolach . In 1828 there were 127 houses and 923 inhabitants who were employed in forestry and agriculture, as shepherds, linen weavers and as manufacturers of wooden tools. A small hammer mill worked here in the 19th century.

Until 1918 the place in Zips County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Kolačkov had 1233 inhabitants, of which 1142 were Slovaks, three Roma, two each from Poland and Russia and one from Ukraine. 83 residents gave no information in this regard. 1122 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church, 26 residents supported the Greek Catholic Church. One resident was non-denominational and the denomination was not determined for 83 residents.
