Miljøministeriet
The Miljøministeriet was until 2015, the Ministry of the Environment of the Kingdom of Denmark , were employs around 2,500 employees. It was most recently one of the Danish government's 19 line ministries and was based on Højbro Plads in central Copenhagen . It has merged into Miljø- og Fødevareministeriet .
It was founded in 1971 under the name Ministeriet for Forureningsbekæmpelse (Ministry for Combating Pollution). From 1973 to 1994 and 2001 to 2015 it was called Miljøministeriet . During a merger with the Ministry of Energy from 1994 to 2001, it was called Miljø- og Energiministeriet (Ministry of Environment and Energy).
The area of responsibility included environmental and nature protection, forestry and geological surveys. In addition to the Natur- og Miljøklagenævnet complaints committee, there were three authorities under the umbrella of the ministry:
