society

Beginnings

Alex Muralha started his career in the junior division of the Paraná Clube from Curitiba . He received his first professional contract in 2009 with Óle Brasil FC from Ribeirão Preto . He did not play for this club. Already in the following year Alex Muralha moved to Votoraty FC in Votorantim . With this he played in the Série A2 of the state championship of São Paulo . His first appearance was on January 17, 2010 in the away game against AA Flamengo . The club also made three appearances in the 2010 Copa do Brasil .

For the following season 2011 Alex Muralha came to Comercial FC from Ribeirão Preto . In the first year, the club managed to return to the Série A1 of the state championship after 25 years with him. During the season he also got his nickname Muralha, in German wall or wall. In the final game of the championship, fans honored him with a flag with this nickname. From June to July 2011 his club went on a tour to Europe. Here three games were played in Austria and one each in Romania ( Steaua Bucharest 2: 2) and Russia ( Anzhi Makhachkala 2: 1 victory). In his first season he did not get beyond the role of reserve goalkeeper and did not make any competitive appearances. From 2015, Alex Muralha was in goal in almost all competitive games. He played his first game in Série A on May 17, 2015 on the second match day in the home game against CR Vasco da Gama . With the club he won his first title with the State Championship in Santa Catarina in 2015. His early contract extension until 2018 was announced on July 9, 2015. Two months after the contract extension, while the championship round was still in progress, Palmeiras São Paulo's interest in Alex Muralha became known. After the end of the season he was awarded the Troféu Gustavo Kuerten for his achievements .

Flamengo

On January 10, 2016, the CR Flamengo from Rio de Janeiro announced the engagement of Alex Muralha. The contract had a term of four years. In his first season he was able to oust the goalkeeper Paulo Victor and played regularly. During the season, Alex Muralha made his international club debut with Flamengo. In the Copa Sudamericana 2016 , he played in the home game against his former club Figueirense on September 1. At the end of his first season at Flamengo, Alex Muralha was awarded the Troféu Mesa Redonda .

Albirex Niigata

For the 2018 season, Alex Muralha was loaned to Albirex Niigata . With this he entered the J2 League . He played his first game in the league on February 25, 2018 in the away game against Kamatamare Sanuki on the first day of the 2018 season . With the club he finished 16th at the end of the season. After the season was over, Alex Muralha returned to Brazil.

Coritiba

After there was still no place for Alex Muralha in the ranks of Flamengo , he was loaned to Coritiba FC for the 2019 season. The contract ran until December 2019. In the club, he was able to prevail as a regular goalkeeper.

National team

In preparation for the soccer World Cup qualifying games in September 2016, Alex Muralha was appointed to the squad by national coach Tite . But he did not come to work. Further appointments were made in October 2016 and January 2017. The appointment in early 2017 was for a friendly against Colombia. Only players who were active in Brazil were called up, since the game took place outside the regular FIFA period for international matches. Alex Muralha took part actively in the squad for the first time, even if only on the reserve bank.

Private

Newspaper magazine Extra

On September 1, 2017, the newspaper magazine Extra reported on its front page that Alex Muralha would no longer call it Muralha because he no longer deserved this name. The magazine justified this with journalistic accuracy. The article prompted the President and his teammates to comment and express their support for Alex Muralha.

Electricity theft

In October 2017 it became known that Alex Muralha was allegedly involved in an electricity theft. The electricity supplier for the residential complex in which his apartment is located had found that ten apartments were not equipped with measuring devices, including that of Alex Muralha. However, he was able to prove that he had repeatedly written to the supplier in order to have a corresponding device installed.
