The series ET 188 and EB 188 , 1970: Series 279.0-2 is from April 1949 Name of the Deutsche Reichsbahn acquired for various private railways EMUs. With the introduction of the numbering scheme of the Deutsche Bundesbahn on October 1, 1991, the vehicles were given the series designations 479 and 879 .

ET 188 501 to 503
BR 479.6 / 879.6

These railcars are vehicles No. 1 to 3 of the Buckower Kleinbahn . In 1970 they were given the road numbers 279 001, 003 and 005 . A complete reconstruction took place in 1981/1982. Since 1991 they have been referred to as 479 601 to 603.

ET 188 511 and 512

These passenger railcars were the PT 1 and PT 2 vehicles of the Schleizer Kleinbahn . The vehicles were not given an EDP number. ET 188 511 is now part of the Dresden Transport Museum .

These luggage railcars were the GT 1 and GT 2 vehicles of the Schleizer Kleinbahn. The vehicles were not given an EDP number. ET 188 521 is now part of the Dresden Transport Museum.

Railcar of the Oberweißbacher Bergbahn

This railcar was a vehicle on the Cursdorf – Lichtenhain line operated by the Oberweißbacher Bergbahn . The vehicle procured in 1922 was given EDP number 279 201-8 in 1969 . In 1970 it was fundamentally rebuilt and equipped with a new car body , rebuilt again in 1982 and electrically adapted to the newly built motor coaches 279 203 and 205. It has been listed under the number 479 201-6 since 1991.

ET 188 701

This railcar was a vehicle on the Cursdorf – Lichtenhain line operated by the Oberweißbacher Bergbahn. The vehicle was converted in 1955/1956 from a tram railcar of the Great Leipzig Tram. In 1963 there were further fundamental alterations. Since then, the new car body has made its origin no longer recognizable. With the introduction of computer numbering in 1969, it was given the number 279 203-4 . In 1984 it was replaced by a new building with the same number, which has been referred to as 479 203-2 since 1991.

EB 188 501 to 503

These sidecars are vehicles no. 11 to 13 of the Buckower Kleinbahn. In 1970 they were given road numbers 279 002, 004 and 006 . In 1981 a complete reconstruction and conversion to a control car took place. Since 1991 they have been referred to as 879 601 to 603.

EB 188 511 to 514
Attachment wagons on the Oberweißbacher Bergbahn

These sidecars were vehicles 1 to 4 of the Schleizer Kleinbahn. The vehicles were not given an EDP number. EB 188 513 is now part of the Oberweißbacher Bergbahn as an attachment car and EB 188 514 is in the holdings of the Dresden Transport Museum.

279 202

This vehicle was a sidecar of the Niederbarnimer Railway . In 1974 it was converted into a control car for the flat line of the Oberweißbacher Bergbahn. With the introduction of EDP numbering in 1969, it was given the number 279 202-6. In 1984 it went to the Reichsbahn repair shop in Berlin-Schöneweide for reconstruction , where it was replaced by the railcar 279 205-9 , which has been referred to as 479 205-7 since 1991.
