Liebesleid is a German TV film directed by Michael Zens from 2019 . It is the fourth part of the Heimatfilm series Home in the Mountains . The main roles are played by Walter Sittler , Max Herbrechter , Theresa Scholze , Matthi Faust , Catherine Bode , Thomas Unger , Merlin Leonhardt , Anna Hausburg , Robert Maaser , Frederik Bott and Bernhard Bettermann .

Lorenz Huber is surprised by his daughters Marie and Lisa with the news that he is going to be a grandpa. Although he is happy, he also fears that this could be the end of his already unprofitable farm due to Marie's absence as a worker.

action

Marie and Lisa Huber have taken courage and tell their father that Marie is pregnant by Georg Leitner. Although Max is happy, he is now even more worried about the future. Marie is the soul of the Huberhof and will not be able to spend as much time on the farm as before. Lisa, who is a lawyer, is thinking of fighting for the pastures lost to the Leitners in court, as the Huberhof no longer supports itself and her father is thinking of selling, as the Alp is in debt with 45,000 €. However, Marie definitely does not want to have another argument with the Leitners, as her father and Sebastian Leitner are just getting closer. She thinks it is bad for her if she loses the farm, but it is much worse to lose someone.

Since Lisa finally wants to forget her childhood friend Florian Leitner, she lets herself in with an unknown young man named Liam in the toilet of a bar, after having had an unpleasant argument with Florian shortly before. Florian, on the other hand, tries to reduce his frustration with his wife Karin that night by touching her hard to sleep with her. Karin rejects him. When Florian tries to apologize on the other day, Karin eludes him.

When Lisa, who represents Georg Leitner in the custody dispute over his daughter, comes into her office, she experiences a surprise, Georg's ex-wife Mirjam is represented by Liam Achenbach, whom she had agreed to the night before. Since the conversation is going badly for him in Georg's eyes, he seeks a conversation with Marie. Jan, a psychotherapist who temporarily helps out on the alp, interferes and pretends to be with Marie, who he says is expecting a child from him. Georg then sets out in a rush. Marie doesn't really know what to think of Jan's rushing ahead. However, Lisa found out through a private detective that the man Mirjam wants to move to France with also has a relationship with at least one other woman. So Mirjams moving plans with Lea take care of themselves.

School friends, school friends Marcel, Lukas and Frederik, as well as Julia, who is coveted by all three men, stay at the Leitnerhof. During a mountain tour with mountain guide Florian, the vet Frederik Thorbach tells Florian, who says to him that he loves Julia, that when he was 14 he wanted to send her a note asking if she wanted to go with him and the possible answers : "Yes No Maybe". But he never gave it to her. This time, however, he wants to do better and temporarily eliminates Marcel and Lukas with a ruse, but again cannot bring himself to reveal his feelings to Julia. But then Frederik takes heart and pushes the note under Juliet's door, which he would have gladly given her at the age of 14. The door opens and Julia says with a smile that after careful consideration she will choose answer one. Then they both embrace.

Sebastian Leitner invited Lorenz Huber back to his home for the first time after the fatal accident of his son Peter for which Lorenz was responsible. As he parted, he said that he would never talk to Lorenz about Peter and that he would never talk to him about the letter that he was handing to Lorenz at the same time. When Lorenz opens the letter while sitting on the bench in front of his alp, something falls out of it, which turns out to be a check for € 100,000.

At the same time, Mila Leitner tries to convince her parents, especially her father Florian, that her desire to attend an acting school is carried by her talent by auditioning her parents. And Florian Leitner is touched.

Questions to Hausburg and Leonhardt

Anna Hausburg

When asked which type of man she was more likely to address, Anna Hausburg replied that the most important thing for her was that he had a good heart. In addition, it is important to her that one can exchange ideas on a “spiritual level” and that there is a good pinch of humor. Sure she would appeal to a character like Frederik in real life because of his modesty and sensitivity, but he should have a little "more pepper in his ass". But to that extent the character in the film is going through a great development.

Merlin Leonhardt

When asked whether he had a favorite animal like Frederik in the past, said Leonhardt, a cat named Hoppel. Since Frederik is out of breath on a hiking tour, the question to Leonhardt was what role did sport play in his life? He said he actually quit the sport after accepting the role to "come across more authentically". Normally he trains six times a week, but I feared that Frederik looked too sporty and did not appear as “silty” as the role required if he carried out his program as usual. When he was still privately hiking in the mountains after filming in the Allgäu, he clearly felt how much he missed the sport. He got tired faster and sweated faster than usual.

publication

The first broadcast of the film took place on May 3, 2019 under the motto “Finally Friday in the First” in the ARD Das Erste program .

criticism

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm only showed the side with their thumbs, gave one of three possible points for humor and tension and stated: “Entertainment without offending, even a taciturn Walter Sittler [...] won't save it. Subordinate strands told soifically dilute the drama by actually revcht likeable characters. After all, sweaty lads and one-night stands show: There's a sin on the Alm! ”Conclusion:“ Sometimes perky, but far too seldom ”.

Frank Juergens rated the film in the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung with three out of six possible stars and stated that "the great actors - especially Walter Sittler as Sebastian Leitner - would seem badly under-challenged at times".

In the Volksstimme , Klaus Braeuer couldn't get anything out of the film. Regarding the subplot about three friends, he wrote that they “may still work”, but the “main lines of the series are hardly better”. A “deeper drawing of the main characters” remains “unfortunately not”. To hear "inconsequential constant tinkling and so many deep sighs" can be seen "lush green meadows, worried expressions or tear-filled eyes". The actors "struggled through what was happening, which screenwriter Brigitte Müller [...] and director Michael Zens [...] would apparently consider the full reality of life".
