Dalibor Grubačević (born January 9, 1975 in Koprivnica , Croatia ) is a Croatian composer , musician and music producer , known for his film scores and pop / rock recordings.

Life

He showed his musical talent early on, which enabled him to learn to play the guitar and piano at the age of six . In the local cultural-artistic association "Koprivnica" he came into contact with the traditional Croatian instrument " Tamburica ". Inspired by the Beatles , he gradually began to devote himself to rock 'n' roll in the 1990s , where he also became a member of "The Bugs". Initially self-taught, he gradually immersed himself in the composition arts of the old masters, after which he also took private lessons with Natalija Imbrišak and Miljenko Prohaska.

In 1993 he enrolled to study social work at the Faculty of Law at the University of Zagreb . Two years later, he dropped out and devoted himself entirely to music .

To date he has worked with numerous renowned Croatian directors and producers, including a. with Branko Ištvančić Duh u močvari ( The spirit in the wetland ) and Most na kraju svijeta ( The bridge at the end of the world ), Miro Andrić Hrvatsko vodeno blago ( Water treasures of Croatia ), Miro Branković U potrazi za Markom Polom ( In search of Marko Polo ), Nenad Puhovski Zajedno ( together ), Zoran Budak ( Hebrang ), Višnja Starešina Zaustavljeni glas ( held up voice ) and many more. By composing for film and television, Dalibor Grubačević combines a wide variety of musical styles, as well as classical orchestration with electronic sounds and moods.

In addition to numerous scores and soundtracks for feature films and documentaries, as well as various advertising jingles, Grubačević is also crowned with success in the pop, rock and ethnic scenes. His music is played far outside his country, including a. in Macedonia , Montenegro , Canada , USA , Japan , England , Italy , Israel and many more. He also works closely with many Croatian and foreign musicians, producers such as Eric Ewazen , Alan Holley, the Simply Brass quintet, Miroslav Evačić and Zoran Džorlev, as well as with singers such as Toše Proeski , Saša Lozar, Aleksandar Mitevski, Daniel Kajmakoski and Dario Pankovski .

Dalibor Grubačević is a member of the Croatian Composers Society and the Croatian Music Association.
