The Dammbach is a left tributary of the Elsava in the districts of Aschaffenburg and Miltenberg in the Bavarian Spessart .

Surname

The name " Dammbach " is made up of the Middle High German words tam for a dam and bach . Dams for rafting were built on the Dammbach . The brook gave its name to the community of the same name in 1976 .

The Dammbach rises from the Libischbrunnen behind the Krausenbacher Forst district . The source is near Rohrbrunn in the Upper Spessart on the state road 2317 below the Dammberg . The Dammbach flows through the municipality of Dammbach in a north-south direction, past the Burgstall Unterschn and the districts of Krausenbach and Wintersbach . In Krausenbach the Gößbach flows towards it from the left . Behind the town of Wintersbach, the Dammbach turns west and flows into the Elsava at Neuhammer .
