Daniel Alan Campbell (born July 11, 1978 in Minneapolis ) is a former American biathlete .

Dan Campbell first took part in a Junior World Championship in Forni Avoltri in 1997 and was 16th in the individual. A year later he ran in Jericho in the individual on rank 38 and was 23rd in the sprint. In the Biathlon European Cup , he started for the first time in 1999 in Friedenweiler , where he was in the sprint and seventh 59th in the relay. In the Biathlon World Cup Campbell first met in 2002 in Ruhpolding first time. In the sprint he was 87th, with the season 12. Then he started at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and reached 76th place in the individual and together with Jeremy Teela , Jay Hakkinen and Lawton Redman 12th place in the relay race. Further appearances in the World and European Cup followed in 2003, including a 16th place in the pursuit race of Forni Avoltri as the best European Cup result. The next major event and the end of his international career was participation in the 2003 biathlon world championships in Khanty-Mansiysk . In the individual, Campbell reached 66th place, in the sprint and pursuit he came in 44th place and was also 17th in the relay race.

Campbell continued to run biathlon races nationally and in North America, including the Biathlon NorAm Cup . In the 2008/09 season he won a sprint race in Itasca . At the US championships , Campbell just missed a medal in fourth, which he finally won with silver behind Russell Currier .
