Daniel Bochner (born September 5, 1984 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a former Canadian - Israeli ice hockey player who was last under contract with HC Bat Yam in the Israeli ice hockey league until 2011 and is now a coach.

Career

Bochner began his career with HC Bat Yam in the Israeli ice hockey league . At the age of 17 he moved to the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League , in which he played for three different clubs in four years. After spending the 2006/07 season at the Niagara Falls Canucks in the Golden Horseshoe League , an amateur league, he moved to Europe. First he was under contract with HK Beostar in the Serbian ice hockey league for a year . He then moved to Nice Hockey Côte d'Azur and was able to win the third-class French Division 2 with the club . Despite the associated promotion to Division 1 , he left the team and returned to HC Bat Yam, where he ended his career in 2011.

In the 2015/16 season he was the head coach of the Don Mills Flyers in the Greater Toronto Hockey League, a Canadian junior league.

International

Bochner already played for Israel in the junior division and took part in the U18 World Championships of the European Division II in 1999 and 2000 and the World Division III in 2001 .

For the Israeli national team , Bochner played the World Championships in Division II in 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2004 , 2005 , 2007 , 2008 and 2009 . At the 2006 World Cup , he played with the Israelis for the first time in Division I, but had to accept immediate relegation. After relegation in 2010, the defender and his team took part in the 2011 World Cup in Division III in Cape Town and won the title there with a hard-fought 6: 5 after extra time against the hosts and together with them the immediate promotion.
