Daniel Francisco Blanco Méndez (born October 4, 1973 in San José ) is a Costa Rican clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in San José de Costa Rica .

Life

Daniel Francisco Blanco Méndez first studied at the national seminary of Costa Rica and then obtained a degree in canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University . On December 8, 2000, he received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of San José de Costa Rica .

In addition to various tasks in pastoral care, most recently as pastor in San José, he was a judge at the national church court and chancellor of the curia of the archdiocese. In 2016 he was appointed Vicar General of the Archdiocese of San José.

On November 28, 2017 Pope appointed him Francis to the titular of Pulcheriopolis and auxiliary bishop in San José de Costa Rica. The Archbishop of San José de Costa Rica, José Rafael Quirós Quirós , donated him episcopal ordination on January 25 of the following year . Co- consecrators were the retired Archbishop of San José de Costa Rica, Hugo Barrantes Ureña , and the Apostolic Nuncio to Costa Rica, Archbishop Antonio Arcari .
