Daniel Moser (Mayor)
Daniel Moser (born October 30, 1570 in Vienna ; † October 23, 1639 there ) was mayor of Vienna .
Daniel Moser fought in Hungary and earned services in the siege of Eger . In 1606 and 1607 he was a city judge in Vienna and from 1608 a member of the Inner Council. Moser was mayor of Vienna from 1610 to 1613, 1616 to 1623 and 1626 to 1637 . He supported the Catholic Restoration and Counter-Reformation on the side of Emperor Ferdinand II .
On July 12, 1606 he was knighted by Rudolf II . At the request of Emperor Ferdinand II , he was accepted into the inner Austrian provinces on May 11, 1635 . Daniel Moser bought the Ebreichsdorf estate in 1639 and then called himself Moser von Ebreichsdorf .
He had a splendid garden laid out in Rossau .
In 1874 the Mosergasse in Vienna- Alsergrund (9th district) was named after him.
