Daniel Volk

Daniel Volk (born January 25, 1970 in Bremen ) is a German politician ( FDP ). From 2008 to 2013 he was a member of the German Bundestag .

Life and work

Volk passed his Abitur at the old grammar school in Bremen. He then studied law and political science at the Julius Maximilians University in Würzburg , where he passed his first state examination in 1995 and received his Magister Artium in political science in 1996 .

Between the first and the second state examination, Volk completed the legal clerkship between 1995 and 1997 ; during this time he was u. a. active at the German Embassy in London . Since completing his legal studies in Munich, he has established himself as an independent lawyer in Dachau in 1998 . His doctorate as Dr. iur. took place in 2004 at the University of Würzburg .

Since 2005, Volk has been a lecturer in law and civics at the State Vocational School for Nursing at the University of Munich Hospital, and since 2006 lecturer in labor and tax law at the North Hesse University of Applied Sciences. Since leaving the German Bundestag in 2013, Volk has worked as a lawyer and political advisor.

Allegations of plagiarism

In 2011, plagiarism allegations were made against his dissertation on the PlagiPedi Wiki and VroniPlag Wiki websites . After an examination procedure, the University of Würzburg announced in January 2013 that the doctoral committee of the law faculty had discovered a number of irregularities, but taking into account proportionality, these were not sufficient to withdraw the title.

Political party

In 1996, Volk joined the FDP. From 1996 to 1998 he was chairman of the Young Liberals in Munich, and from 1999 to 2001 he was the district chairman of the Young Liberals in Upper Bavaria . In the years 2000 to 2004 he was deputy chairman of the FDP Upper Bavaria, since 2002 he has been a member of the regional board of the FDP Bavaria and from 2004 to 2013 he was district chairman of the FDP Upper Bavaria. Daniel Volk has been chairman of the Upper Bavarian Economic District Committee since 2005 .

MP

On November 1, 2008, he became a member of the German Bundestag as the successor to the resigned MP Jörg Rohde . From 2008 to 2009 he was represented in the committee for the affairs of the European Union as well as spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group for the European economic and legal area. From 2009 he was a member of the finance committee , deputy member of the sports committee and chairman of the tax and finance working group of the FDP parliamentary group. From 2010 he was also chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in the finance committee.

His constituency was Munich-West / Mitte .

Because the FDP failed to pass the five percent hurdle , he was not represented in the 18th Bundestag .
