Daniel Wernitz (born July 24, 1987 in Dormagen ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

In his youth, Wernitz played indoor volleyball at Moerser SC , where he was later used in the first men's team and in 2004 won the championship title of the 2nd Bundesliga North. Then the outside attacker , who was also used as a libero at times, played for the second division CarGo! Bottrop , TSV Germania Windeck and TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen , where he was again champion of the 2nd Bundesliga North in 2010. In the 2010/11 season Wernitz played in the Bundesliga A! B! C Titans Berg. Country . Then he returned to the 2nd league and played volleys until TSG Solingen . After he was promoted to the Bundesliga with the club in 2016 , he left Solingen to concentrate on his beach volleyball career. In 2016/17 he played for the second division TVA Hürth - Fischenich . In the summer of 2017, Wernitz moved back to his youth club, the former German champions and European Cup winner Moerser SC, with whom he played in the 2nd Bundesliga. Since 2019 he has been active at the league competitor TuB Bocholt .

Career Beach

Wernitz has also been active in beach volleyball since his youth. a. at the side of Florian Brink , the brother of the world and Olympic champion Julius Brink . His standard partners on the Smart Beach Tour and other national tournaments were Alexander Walkenhorst in 2006 , Jan Terhoeven in 2007 , Florian Brink again in 2008/2009 and Jan Romund in 2010 , with whom he also took part in the German Championship in Timmendorfer Strand and was 13th. After an injury break in 2011, Wernitz played with Valentin Begemann from 2012 to 2014 and reached 13th place at the German championships in 2012 and ninth place in 2013 . In 2015 Wernitz played with his Solingen teammate Henning Wegter and with Niklas Rudolf . At the side of Benny Nibbrig , he achieved third place at the Smart Super Cup in Hamburg in 2016 , a victory at the Smart Beach Cup in Sankt Peter-Ording and 13th place in the German championship . After another season together on the Smart Beach Tour and another thirteenth place in the 2017 German championship , the two parted ways.

In 2018 Wernitz first played with the New Zealander Sam O'Dea (third place in Dresden ) and from July with Robin Sowa , with whom he achieved third place at the first joint tournament on the Techniker Beach Tour in Kühlungsborn . At the German championship , Sowa / Wernitz finished ninth. In 2019 Wernitz played again with Niklas Rudolf on the Techniker Beach Tour and was ninth again in the German championship .

Podcaster / tour organizer

In March 2019, Wernitz founded the podcast Without a network and sandy soil with Alexander Walkenhorst and Dirk Funk . He also appears in related YouTube videos. In 2020, after the Techniker Beach Tour was canceled, the podcast team founded the Beach League as an alternative competition .
