Daniel Woger (born February 25, 1988 in Dornbirn ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who has been under contract with EHC Linz in the Austrian ice hockey league since April 2018 .
Career
Woger began playing ice hockey in his hometown with the offspring of the Dornbirn EC , for which he was active until 2007 - interrupted only by one year in the U17s of HC Davos . From 2004 he played with the club in the National League , the second highest Austrian class. After spending the 2007/08 season in North America with the Valley Junior Warriors from the Eastern Junior Hockey League, he returned to Austria and has since played in the Austrian Ice Hockey League . First he was on the ice at HC Innsbruck . After he withdrew from the ÖEHL in 2009 for financial reasons, he moved to Styria to EC Graz 99ers , for which he initially played for three years before moving to the Vienna Capitals in 2012 . He stayed with the capital club for only one year and then returned to Graz, where he played for the next five years. He has been playing for league competitor EHC Linz since 2018 . He was de-registered from the club in February 2020.
International
For his home country, Woger came in the junior division at the U18 World Championship in Division I in 2005 and 2006 as well as in the U20 World Championship in Division I in 2007 , in which the young Austrians only narrowly rose to the top by losing 3-2 to Kazakhstan -Division missed, deployed.
For the men's selection of the Austrians , he played for the first time in the 4-3 win against France on November 12, 2010 in Székesfehérvár, Hungary . However, he made his World Cup debut four and a half years later at the 2015 World Cup in the top division, but could not prevent relegation. He then played at the 2017 World Cup in Division I and was promoted back to the top division. There he played at the 2018 World Cup , when the Alpine nationals managed to stay in the league for the first time since 2004.
