Daniele Legler (* 1950 ) is a Swiss actor .

Life

Legler was born in Italy , which is where his knowledge of Italian comes from; however, his mother tongue is French . After graduating from high school, he began studying economics . From 1970 to 1973 he completed acting training at the Zurich Acting Academy .

After that he mainly worked as a theater actor . He had permanent engagements and guest contracts at the Stadttheater Trier (1973/1974 season), at the Claque Theater in Baden , Canton Aargau (1973/1974 season) and at the Southeast Bavarian City Theaters in Landshut and Passau (1977–1979). He later had further theater engagements in Stuttgart (1989; Stadthalle Stuttgart, in Leonce and Lena ), at the TAK Theater Liechtenstein in Schaan (season 1989/1990; in Der kleine Prinz ) and in Munich (1991; Reitschule, in Die Zoogeschichte , also directed ).

After his first small film roles in the mid and late 1980s, Legler has appeared regularly in German-language television productions since the early 1990s, occasionally also in feature films. In the movie Die Apothekerin (1997) he played the role of Gero, the loving husband of Dorit Meissen, the pharmacist's best friend. On television , Legler was often used in roles with a southern or exotic background due to his slightly foreign accent.

He had continuous series roles as Dr. Reza Shirazi in the ARD television series Marienhof (1992–1993), in the television series Die Partner (1992–1995) and in the ZDF series Eine Liebe am Gardasee (2006). In it he played the elegant hotelier Alexander Hofer, the father of the female lead Isabella ( Jessica Boehrs ).

He had episode roles, often leading roles, in television series, among others, in Faust (1994), Die Kommissarin (1994), Peter Strohm (1996), SOKO 5113 (1997; as a drug dealer Raoul Sternberg), Der Bulle von Tölz (2000; as an Italian Angelo Traghetto), SK Kölsch (2001; as restaurant owner Toni Cavallo), Der Clown (2001; as Italian Salvatore Di Pena) and in Alarm for Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei (2011; as merciless contractor Marcello Santi).

Legler was also seen on ZDF in 1999 in the Rosamunde Pilcher film Magic of Love . In 2007, he played the Canadian rancher Walter Cross in the film Herz im Wind in the ZDF television series Im Tal der Wild Rosen . In the ZDF television series cruise into happiness he was in January 2013. Subsequently honeymoon in Sicily seen as Sicilian bride's father Vitorio Donadelli. In April 2013 he had the role of Antonio in the ZDF television film Ein Sommer in Amalfi . He played the Italian stepfather of the female main character, the publisher Claudia Wesskampe.

Legler also occasionally works as a theater director. He worked intensively as an acting lecturer and acting coach at the “ Michael Chekhov Acting Workshops”.

Legler lived in Munich for several years; he is sometimes referred to as "Munich by choice".
