Dario-Alessandro Giuseppetti (born March 1, 1985 in Berlin ) is a German motorcycle racer .

Career

Dario Giuseppetti began his career in motocross in 1998 . In 2000 he contested his first road race in the ADAC Junior Cup , and in 2002 the Berliner won this junior racing series.

For the 2002 season, Giuseppetti switched to the 125 cc class of the International German Motorcycle Championship and immediately became runner-up behind the Hungarian Péter Lénart . In the 125cc European Championship , he finished eleventh overall.

The following year , starting on a Honda for the ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg eV , he won the title in the German 125 cc championship. Giuseppetti won three of the eight races and finished all runs on the podium. In the final he had 27-point lead over second-placed AC Burger Georg Fröhlich . In the eight-liter European championship, the Berliner celebrated four race wins in eight races and was only five points behind the Italian Mattia Angeloni, vice-European champion.

125 cc World Championship

Already at the Grand Prix of Germany 2002 at the Sachsenring Dario Giuseppetti made his debut in the motorcycle world championship . He started as a wildcard driver for the Giuseppetti Viba Team on a Honda and finished in 28th place. In the further course of the season he contested another six Grands Prix for Semprucci Angaia Racing and FCC - TSR , but remained without points. In 2003 , the Berliner concentrated on the German championship and therefore only took part in two races. He started at the Sachsenring and in Valencia and recorded 19th place and one retirement.

The 2004 season denied Dario Giuseppetti as a regular driver in the Czech Elit Grand Prix team, where he worked on the side of the Swiss Thomas Luthi drove a Honda. He achieved four points in 13 races, the best result was 13th place at the Malaysian Grand Prix in Sepang . With eight points, he was 26th overall.

In 2005 Giuseppetti competed for the Italian Semprucci team on Aprilia . He completed 15 races and achieved points twice, again in 13th place, this time at the French Grand Prix in Le Mans , which was his best result of the season, which earned him 32nd place in the final standings with four points.

IDM superbike

For the 2006 season, Dario Giuseppetti switched to the Superbike class of the International German Championship. He drove a Yamaha R1 for the MGM Racing Performance team from Sievern and consistently achieved points. With sixth place in the second race at the Sachsenring as the best performance of the season, the Berliner finished 13th overall in his debut year.

In 2007 Giuseppetti competed in the same team in the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup , which was held as part of the Superbike World Championship . The best result here was eighth place at the France run in Magny-Cours . With 26 points, the Berliner finished 15th in the final ranking.

In the 2008 season, Dario Giuseppetti went in the IDM Superbike for the first time for the team Hertrampf Racing from Nordhorn to Ducati 1098 R at the start. Even in the first race of the season at the Lausitzring , he achieved the best result of the season with fourth place despite a loose disguise . In the second run of the day he even came in third, but was subsequently dropped back to ninth place due to a rule violation at the start. During test drives in Oschersleben , a short time later he suffered a fracture in the scaphoid bone of his right hand, which forced him to take a break of four runs and from which he only slowly recovered. After the recovery, several failures followed and numerous placements among the top ten. In the overall ranking he finished 13th with 65 points.

In 2009 , the Berliner, again on the Hertrampf-Ducati, achieved his first podium in the IDM Superbike with third place at the season opener on the EuroSpeedway. In the further course of the season Giuseppetti achieved his first win in this series in his first run on the Schleizer Dreieck . He narrowly prevailed against the eventual master Jörg Teuchert ( Yamaha ). In the second run of the day he finished second behind Gábor Rizmayer ( Suzuki ) on the fast road circuit . With 138 points he rose to sixth place overall.

In the 2010 season Dario Giuseppetti launched on the 1098 R of the team of Denis Hertrampf with two failures at the Lausitzring. After a few placings in the points, the first podium of the season followed in the second race at the Sachsenring with second place behind Martin Bauer . After another second place on the Salzburgring , he managed the hat trick from pole position and two race wins in the race on the Schleizer Dreiecke . The Berliner rose to 154 points and once again reached sixth place in the final standings.

The 2011 season denies Giuseppetti continue in Hertrampf team, now under the name TECHNOGYM RACING TEAM powered by Hertrampf operates on Ducati 1098 R in the IDM Superbike. At the season opener on the EuroSpeedway, he finished second twice behind the Austrian KTM factory driver Martin Bauer. At the first run of the following event in Oschersleben, he fell by highsider and had to skip the second run. Although he competed again at the Nürburgring , he did not get into the points in either round. Four weeks later at the Sachsenring, the Berliner achieved pole position and two convincing race victories, with which he also worked out a good starting position in the fight for the title.
