Dariusz Buras (born November 16, 1971 in Skrzyszów , Poland ) is a Polish Roman Catholic clergyman and Apostolic Administrator of Atyrau .

Life

After graduating from high school, Dariusz Buras first studied political science at the University of Wroclaw from 1991 to 1992 before entering the seminary . On May 30, 1998, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Tarnów .

After two years as a chaplain in his home diocese, he worked as a Fidei Donum priest from 2000 to 2002 in Ternopil in the Ukraine and from 2002 to 2006 in Atyrau in Kazakhstan . In the academic year 2006/2007 he was spiritual at the interdiocesan seminary in Karaganda .

In 2007 he returned to Poland and became spiritual director of the Warsaw Center for Mission Training. At the same time, he studied at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw , where he obtained a licentiate in Spiritual Theology in 2010 . Since 2010 he has worked as a pastor in Norway , most recently as vicar at St. Olav Cathedral in Oslo . He was also responsible for the training of priests from the Tarnów diocese working in Norway.

Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Administrator of Atyrau on May 16, 2015 , without raising him to the rank of bishop.
